Slow Cooker Break-Apart Beef

This is the tastiest way to cook a chuck roast.

3-4 lb chuck roast
salt and pepper
1 pkg dry Onion Soup
beef broth (canned)
8 oz red wine

In a slow cooker, place 3-4 cups beef broth, onion soup mix and red wine.  Turn cooker on HIGH.
Season chuck roast with salt and pepper, remove any string that ties roast together and trim any fat that is apparent.
Place chuck in cooker and add more beef broth to cover roast.

Cook on HIGH for 5-7 hours (cook until meat is tender and falling apart) or
Cook on LOW for 8-10 hours (again, check to see when meat is done).
Meat will not dry out, in slow cooker.

When done, remove meat from crock pot and place on platter.  Cover with wax paper and foil.
Let sit for 15 minutes.  Slice and return to pot prior to serving to reheat.

Meat is tender and delicious.  Serve in many ways.
Serve sliced beef on rolls with a side of the broth for dipping.
Serve meat inside taco shells with tomatoes, onions.
Roll inside flour tortillas.
Serve on a square of puffed pastry with beef slices and asparagus on top.
Serve as steak slices.
Very tender and delicious.
