What I am Reading

Another Laura Lippman book for me.  I like her books.  I do not think that are the same caliber as Stephanie Meyer, but I think they are a good read.
This book is part of the Tess Monaghan series.  Tess, a single woman private investigator is hired for all sorts of investigations.  She is realistic, vulnerable and smart.
Most of these novels are set in Baltimore and the setting is an integral part of the plot, a character almost in its importance.
In this book, Tess is hired by a Hollywood movie producing company to play bodyguard to a young starlet.  The starlet, not too bright, is oblivious or at least plays the part of an airhead actor, hired more for appearance than skill.
Tess's companion, Crowe is back as is Lloyd the homeless juvenile from previous books, that is befriended by Crowe and Tess.
The mystery is intriguing.  Like all of Lippman's work, the plot is delivered very slowly.  This makes it an ideal audio book for long drives, but not for a quick read when you are hungry for some closure.
