Stopping Telemarketers

One thing I despise is when we get marketing calls at home-- everything from charities asking for donations to credit card companies to our very own phone company trying to get up to add more services or "change plans"...
Congress passed legislation years ago for the "Do Not Call Registry".  Here you can send in your phone numbers (even cell phone numbers) and they e-mail you back confirming that you want to be on the list.  It takes 31 days before it becomes "official" and are not supposed to be called.
Click HERE for the link... it is easy and worthwhile!

just to clarify it does not stop all calls, "calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls".
But it is a great thing overall!
