Sheldon Cooper - The Hamburger Postulate
We are hamburger lovers. Not, fast food burger lovers, but real beef burgers... We love Seaquest Burgers and homemade White Castle Burgers (recipe to be posted soon).
But, we had to try Big Boy burgers.
Big Boy is a restaurant chain in the mid west and west coast that specializes its namesake burger. What makes it special is the two layers of beef, the toppings (lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion), the buns and the special sauce. (Sounds like a Big Mac doesn't it?... at least same formula)
So, I took freshly ground sirloin and made them into enough patties to make 4 Big Boys.
I mixed up some tartar sauce - relish, mayo and chopped onion, sliced tomatoes and dill pickles, washed and dried lettuce and sliced the cheddar cheese.
I grilled the burgers, then seasoned them with salt & pepper and put on the slices of cheese to melt slightly.
Then, I steamed the buns and layered them with ketchup and pickles, then burger, cheese, onion, tomato and lettuce and a spoonful of the tartar sauce. I placed the middle bun on top and re-layered it all over again.
