Reading Rainbow

Remember the show Reading Rainbow with LeVar Burton aka Jordi LaForge?
It was on PBS for 26 years! The third longest PBS show, with Sesame Street and Mister Rogers Neighborhood being the top 2 shows.
Reading Rainbow was a show that we would watch when Damian and Veron were young. Each episode featured plot details and characters about the book - told by other kids. It was fun to hear about the book and then read it or see it at the library. I remember the theme song about "Butterfly in the Sky" and the catch phrase, "But you don't have to take my word for it..."
It ran its last episode last Friday.
Interesting, the article stated that neither the station, PBS nor the Corporation for Public Broadcasting chose to continue to fund the show.
Well, all good things come to an end.

Here is the link for more info (although not much more). The article goes in so far as to blame the Bush Administration for the cancellation. Personally, I find it to be another example of the press and liberal media demonizing former President Bush.
Too bad, because I feel like Reading Rainbow should be the heart of the article, not politics.
