MIT Splash Weekend

We arrived safely early this morning. The air was chilly and the crowd was overwhelming! 2,500 high school students are taking part of the Mass. Institute of Technology Splash Weekend.
Our girls are but 2 of the kids!

They checked in as ALL kids had to check in between 8 am & 9 am, and as you can imagine, the line was out the door, down the stairs, onto the sidewalk AND around the block. To MIT's credit, all students were checked in by 9am. Wow, that is efficient!

Ash started her classes right at 9am, Allie didn't start until 10am, so the three of us went for a breakfast break at Au Bon Pain.
Then, we walked Al to her building and Jon and I went to explore Boston.

We went to the Prudential Center and saw it heavily decorated for Christmas. The decorations were striking - huge, gold and festive. It was fun to see.
We had a leisurely lunch and did some shopping in order to kill time until our 3:00 hotel check in.
Our hotel, the Kendall is an old historic hotel, that is just lovely. It is in an old firehouse, but is renovated and is clean, decorated with antiques and historic memorabilia and is quaint.

Tonight, we meet the kids during dinner break and then pick them up late tonight after classes get out.
