Where are the Feminists?

Here is an interesting and disturbing article concerning the treatment of women in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

There are high rates of heart disease and diabetes in Saudi Arabia. This is due to poor diets and lack of exercise. However, "health authorities" chose to shut down women's fitness centers that are attached to hospitals, calling them "illegal".
One fitness center in that was closed, was one of the very few venues where women are allowed to exercise.
The officials stated, "Anyone who violates regulations governing the ruling of health facilities would be severely punished because this involves people's health"...
isn't this ridiculous?

This society is gender segregated Islamic society.

OK. Where are the women's groups on this issue?
Denying women the right to exercise, preventing them from a gender segregated fitness facility is horrendous.

Yes, exercise and the freedom to exercise, has been something I have taken for granted.

We are dealing with a group of people who treat women as objects. Here we have a group of humans who have the knowledge of the correlation between nutrition and exercise.
This same group has the will to do exercise. And they are not "allowed".
Disgraceful.
Disgraceful that this fact is kept hidden and not discussed by the media or women's rights groups.
