The Occupation is Over....

Protestors at in Hanover, NH

Yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg of NYC ordered the city to clear the protestors (of Occupy Wall Street Fame) from the city park.  For two months insanity has run wild in NYC, Oakland, Boston, Seattle, Manchester NH, Madison WI,  Dallas, Cleveland plus other towns and villages around the US.  It seems that Zuccatti Park should be renamed Arkam Asylum.
(For those of you not familiar with Arkham, it is a fictional psychiatric hospital for villains in the DC Comic universe, specifically Batman from Gotham City.)

Over 256 incidents of violence and vandalism have been reported.

Our research shows clearly that the movement doesn't represent unemployed America and is not ideologically diverse. Rather, it comprises an unrepresentative segment of the electorate that believes in radical redistribution of wealth, civil disobedience and, in some instances, violence. Half (52%) have participated in a political movement before, virtually all (98%) say they would support civil disobedience to achieve their goals, and nearly one-third (31%) would support violence to advance their agenda.

The OWS (Occupy Wall Street) Protestors have no clear message, except one - a desire to destroy the capitalist system.  They refer to it as "redistributing the wealth".  Interesting, because these are the people who HAVE NOT been working for the past 2 months. So, they want to take the income from those that have been busting their asses and making a living.

Additionally, how could this have gone so far?
For two months, these people camped out in tents.   Is there sanitation? Where do they urinate and defecate?  Do they wash their hands? Dare I ask about cleanliness?

-In NY a respiratory illness referred to as "Zuccotti Lung" spread with cold conditions and drinks passed mouth to mouth. Cold, wet conditions made for mold growth.
-In Atlanta, protestors tested positive for tuberculosis.
-In Santa Cruz, CA there was a ringworm outbreak and a possible scabies outbreak.
-In New Orleans, a man was found dead in his tent at an OWS camp.  He had been dead for 2 days.
-In Oakland, CA there was a fatal shooting.
-In Burlington, VT a military veteran committed suicide at an OWS encampment.

Additionally, sexually transmitted diseases abound the camps.  Protestors are experiencing hearing loss from the continuous drum pounding that is taking place.  Countless rapes have been reported and even more have gone unreported as OWS camps sought to prevent the victims from filing police reports.  The OWS protestors even erected a tent that was "women only" in response to the sexual assaults.

Sadly, it seems that the inmates are running the asylum.
