Week at a Glance... 1.6.12

The first week of the new year has been frigid in NH.  The lake is beginning to ice over and any day now it will start.  The rocks on the shore look positively frozen.  It makes me chilly just seeing them.
One of our cats has a thing for Christmas lights.  She has found a "new" home in the basket by the tree and watches the lights.  These leads me to mention that I have never left the Christmas tree up this long!  January 6th is the Epiphany and the official end of Christmas.  We are leaving it up until next week.  Early next week.
Our girls are doing their favorite cold weather activity -- roasting marshmallows in the fire.  We have had a fire going almost every night this week.
The weather forecast is dreary.  Cold weather, but no snow.  The ski slopes are bare, although they have been making snow.  Sadly, the ski season is not good.  And this year, Ashley got a ski pass as well as a locker.  Some years you get lucky and some years you lose out. This year has been a loss so far.

Next week is the NH primary. It will be a relief when the pollsters stop calling daily.  Enjoy the weekend.
