Sharks and Hybrids

Off the coast of Australia, scientists have discovered a species of hybrid shark.  This is the first time such a discovery has been made and tends to lead scientists to believe that we are witnessing evolution at work.  No, it is not a human shark hybrid.... it is  a hybrid of two types of black tip sharks, Australian black tip and common black tip.
Australian black tips have only been found in warm isolated waters, whereas the common black tip have been found in cooler seas.  This hybrid can effectively swim in cooler seas and scientists theorize that it might supplant the existing Australian black tip that is found in solely warm waters.
Could this be the evolving of a species?  Is this a sign of how other species evolve?
Interesting don't you think?
