While digging at a site in Orvieto, Italy, researchers and their team discovered a second site buried underneath the first! The second site was an underground pyramid dating back to 400 B.C. where the first site was dated 1200 A.D. The site has been buried for years and is believed to be a sealed tomb.
Additionally, it is interesting because the researchers and team were from NH! St. Anselm College in Manchester to be precise.
The team spent six weeks on the dig, finding pottery and other artifacts. They will return to the site next spring to continue the excavation.
