Flavored Whipped Cream Recipes

Whipped cream is a tasty topping on pies, cakes, ice creams and tortes.  And flavored whipped creams are a simple way to make it extra special.  Whipped cream is simple to make, using an electric mixer or even a whisk and some muscle.  Either way it is simple recipe, make sure the cream is cold, even go so far as to put the bowl and whisk in the refrigerator ahead of time.
There are two ways to make flavored whipped cream; the quick way and the infused method.  The quick recipe is simple, whip the cream until stiff and stir in the flavorings and spices.  The infused method involves placing the flavoring in the cream and letting it steep for 8 - 12 hours.  Then drain the cream and whip.

Quick Method Recipes:
Each recipe uses 1 cup whipping cream plus the addition of flavorings, use either brown sugar, can sugar or powdered sugar.  Whip the cream until stiff and then stir in the following:

Mint -1 tablespoon sugar + 1/2 tsp mint extract
Maple - 1 tablespoon maple syrup + 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and pinch nutmeg
Orangesicle - 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier + 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Almond - 1 tablespoon sugar + 1/2 tsp almond extract
Coffee - 1 tablespoon sugar + 1 tsp instant coffee granules
Ginger - 1 tablespoon sugar + 1 tsp chopped candied ginger
Orange Scented  -1 tablespoon sugar + 1/2 tsp orange blossom water
Rose - 1 tablespoon sugar + 1/2 tsp rose blossom water
Halvah - 1 tablespoon sugar + 1/4 cup finely grated Halvah
Chai - 1 tablespoon sugar + a pinch of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, pepper and ginger
Cinnamon - 1 tablespoon sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon
Peanut Butter - 2 tablespoons brown sugar + 2 T peanut butter
Chocolate - melt 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate and let cool, but still liquid.  Fold half of the chocolate into the whipped cream, add 1 tablespoon sugar and fold in remaining melted chocolate.

Infused Whip Cream

Infuse cream with thyme leaves, mint or other herbs.  Let sit in cream overnight or 8 - 12 hours.  Remove infusing agent and whip cream.  Stir in 1 tablespoon sugar for every 1 cup of cream.
