In local news, the MV Kearsarge, a dinner boat that drives around Lake Sunapee from May through October took in water and partially sank in 8 feet of frozen water while it was docked Thursday night.
The boat serves dinner and cocktails on its 2 hour cruises. It has been operating since 1980 and docks in Sunapee Harbor through the winter.
The owners are waiting for a large crane to be brought in on Saturday as none of the local marinas have cranes large enough. Meanwhile, the Department of Environmental Services set up a temporary boundary to prevent and toxins from leaking into Lake Sunapee.
The owners hope to have the ship repaired and ready to sail again in the spring.
