San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge connects San Francisco to Marin County.  It is 8,981 feet long and 746 feet above sea level.
The Golden Gate opened in 1937 and there are 80,000 miles of wire in the cables of the bridge and over 1,200,000 rivets holding it together.

The bridge allows traffic to cross in both directions as well as a pedestrian walkway for bicycles as well as walkers. When we were at Pier 39, we saw signs for bike rentals that encouraged you to bike across the bridge.
So, we suited up and did it!
We biked about ten miles that day.
With both of us going across the bridge.
One of us got the sweatshirt to prove it!

The other one got the hat!
