Botanical Sketches # 12- Watermelon

Citrullus Lanatus is a summer favorite, although the seedless variety is the more popular version.  In this sketch, I uses a simple two color monoprinted paper (red and white) and sketched the melon on top using colored pencils. I love the leaf and curly vine and had to include that as well.  When my father grows watermelon, we're not quite sure what color the flesh will be until we cut it open, so it's always a surprise to see if it's pink, orange or red.
