Bird Series: Waxwing

The Waxwing is a bird that get's its name from the red "drips" on the wings that were named because it resembles the drips of sealing wax. I played around with the colors as the birds aren't usually blue, but grays, browns, and blacks.
I added lots of layers to the background, images of tape measures, lace doilies and peach colored stamps to contrast with the bird. The lace reminds me of snowflakes, but perhaps that is just the winter weather.
