Have you heard of Sriracha Sauce? It's a slightly spicy sauce, though not as hot as tabasco, that is sold in a clear squeeze bottle with a green cap.
It has overtaken ketchup as the world's most popular condiment!
It's pronounced SEE - ROTCH - AH and it's a type of hot sauce - not a brand name.
It's made with red jalapeño chili peppers that lose a lot of their spice in processing. However, the color of the sauce, a brilliant red, is derived solely from the peppers, no artificial coloring is added.
Huy Fong is the brand name of a popular sriracha that has a white rooster on the label.
In Thailand, it's a dipping sauce for seafood. In Vietnam it's used as a condiment for Pho. In the United States, it's used in everything from potato chips, to beef jerky, to a mayonnaise spread, dipping sauce, and condiment.
