St. Patrick's Day 2016

St. Patrick's Day may be one of the most enjoyable holidays and I suspect the fun stems from some of their best sayings. Are you familiar with some of these gems?
"May the road rise up to meet you." This is one way of reminding people that God is in everyday things.

"Two People Shorten the Road." Company makes things hard times easier.

"Acting the Maggot" This expression means someone's acting like a jerk.

"That one suffers from a double dose of original sin." A way to describe a pain in the ass.

These need no explanation...

"May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live."

"May the good Lord take a liking to you. But, not too soon!"

"As you slide down the bannister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way."

"I complained that I had no shoes, until I met a man that had no feet."

"It is often that a person's mouth broke his nose."

"May your neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
and heaven accept you."

"There are only three kinds of Irish men who can't understand women. Old men, young men, and  men of middle age."

"May you be at the gates of heaven an hour before the devil knows you are dead."

"Here's to Hell. May the stay there be as the way there."

"If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!"
