St Petersburg Arboretum

Jon and I spent the afternoon taking a walk at the arboretum in St. Petersburg. The Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum was started in 1976 and currently has over 500 various palms and cycads.
There are brick paths throughout the grounds for walking and it is well maintained and gorgeous.
At the end of the arboretum, we saw a park with tennis courts, lots of trees, lawn, benches and waterfront.
You can see the remnants of Hurricane Hermine on the beach. There were signs warning swimmers not to enter the water, due to dangers bacteria levels.
There was a lot of erosion, but it's hard to tell from the picture and the gorgeous scenery.
We saw lots of birds and I found the heron to be striking.
Jon looked in the water and spotted this crab. I have no idea how he spotted it!
We had a great time, walked 1.5 miles in the sunshine, and found a new spot to visit.
