When making the Oreo Cupcakes, I made some Oreo extract to flavor the frosting.
To make an extract, I infused vodka with Oreos. It's that simple. I crushed some Oreos and poured enough vodka over them, so it was 1 part Oreo, 3 parts vodka. I let it sit for 48 hours and then poured it through a coffee filter to strain the cookie bits.
I used 2 teaspoons of extract in the recipe for buttercream, in place of vanilla extract. The result was a very tasty Oreo-like frosting.
