I made this fun, Floridian nightlight using mostly transparent glass.
I cut out the palm fronds shapes out of green, the trunks out of brown and the water using blues. The interesting thing is that when clear glass frit (ground up glass) is placed on the opaque glass, fun things happen. The opaque glass develops highlights from the layers of broken edged clear frit. This produced a fun texture on the trunk of the tree.
I'm pleased with the end result. Lots of light shines through and during the daytime, the palm trees are noticeable.
