There is always something to be thankful for. With less than one week left in November, 2017 is slowly coming to a close and Advent begins.
This week was busy, hectic, and exhilarating and there were blessings abound.
My daughters arrived for the Thanksgiving holiday, so we had a full house again. I love seeing them, waking up wit them here, and joking with them until late at night.
Many close friends wished us a happy Thanksgiving and made it very easy to count them among our blessings.
Our Thanksgiving dinner was plentiful and so was our table. Jon's parents joined the four of us and we had a nice early dinner. There was lots of food, lots of laughs, and good company.
I finally consolidated all my Thanksgiving recipes, lists, and ideas into one journal. I am so happy with my "Thanksgiving book" that includes our traditions from the past 30 + years as a family, ones from my childhood family, and some new additions. Each year, I try to remember all of it, but finally, I took the time to put it all in one place that I can easily find. What took me so long?
We went to the movies to see a Justice League and then Thor:Ragnarok. We've been taking the girls to superhero movies all their lives and continued with the tradition. It was great to be together, even if the movies were disappointing. At least it gave us lots to talk about!
Ashley has modified her diet and eats a lot of beans and vegetables. I tried some of her food and it was delicious. I think we might be adding that to our repertoire.
We went to the girls favorite type of restaurant, a Brazilian steakhouse, where we had a relaxed and delicious meal. Allie selected a bottle of red wine for our dinner and we chatted, laughed, and ate our way through the night.
