New Art Series: 31 Florida Fish Day 1 Anchovy

In August, I started a new art series, inspired by Florida Fish.
Our first year visiting Florida, we were walking the beach and saw at least 30 birds flying above the gulf near the shore. They would hover above the water, then dive in. This went on for as long as we watched. We started to walk closer to see what they were catching in the water. Thousands of anchovies were swimming. The birds saw them and went on a feeding frenzy. It was quite the sight.
The first in the series is the Bay Anchovy, the small fish that grows up to 4 inches. They travel in dense schools and tolerate varying levels of salinity. They make a great bait fish when caught in nets.
I love the colors in this scarf. It's hard to see, but there are lots of anchovies here, using my illustration.
